Patient support program (PSP)
A patient support program, often run through a hub, is the brand-funded service that reaches referred patients, confirms eligibility and benefits, enrolls them, and follows them through first fills and persistence check-ins. The program fails when the referred patient is never reached, or when the hub, pharmacy, and site each restart the same case.

What a patient support program is
A patient support program (PSP) is the operational layer around a therapy: intake, benefit investigation, enrollment, start-of-therapy support, and adherence check-ins. Hubs coordinate that work across manufacturers, pharmacies, and sites. The patient experiences it as one case. The organizations often experience it as three.
The handoff is where cases die. A patient approved by the hub and dispensed by the pharmacy is still one person. If the second call reintroduces itself, consent is recaptured, and status lives in two systems, persistence drops.
Rivvi runs first-contact outreach and status write-back for hub and PSP teams: reach the referred patient, confirm eligibility, enroll them, and keep therapy-start check-ins on their schedule, inside consent, HIPAA, and TCPA rules. Adverse events detected on any conversation route to the person you name.
Patient support programs, answered
- What is a hub in life sciences?
- A hub is the coordinating service that sits between a manufacturer, pharmacies, payers, and sites. It runs intake, benefits, enrollment, and case status for a branded therapy. Patient support programs are the patient-facing work the hub is hired to complete.
- Where do PSP enrollments stall?
- Most often at first contact and at the handoff. Referred patients are not reached inside the window, or the pharmacy and hub restart a case the other side already completed. One consent record and one status write-back close that loop.
- How does Rivvi work with an existing hub?
- Rivvi does not replace the hub. It reaches patients, runs the conversation, and writes every contact, screen result, and status change back to the hub platform, Salesforce, or CRM the team already uses.
