Massive Bio Makes Inaugural Strategic Investment in Rivvi to Build an End-to-End AI Engagement Infrastructure for Healthcare

Massive Bio has made a strategic investment in Rivvi — the first investment the company has made in another AI company. The two teams have been working together across oncology trial programs, and this pairs that work with capital and a shared roadmap.

The gap this closes

Between 3% and 5% of adults with cancer in the United States enroll in a therapeutic clinical trial. The reasons are well documented: fragmented data, eligibility criteria that grow more complex every year, not enough people to work the list, and a clinical window that closes while a patient is still waiting to hear from someone.

Massive Bio has spent years on the first half of that problem. Their neuro-symbolic matching system was evaluated prospectively across 3,804 patients in routine oncology operations, producing more than 17,000 oncologist-confirmed matches at an F1 of 0.82, and matching four times faster than conventional workflows.

A match is not an enrollment. Somebody still has to reach that patient, in their language, find out what is actually standing in the way, and stay with them until the next step happens. That is the layer we build.

How the two systems connect

• Identify. Massive Bio turns consented clinical and biomarker data into explainable patient-trial matches, prioritized cohorts, and next-best-action signals.

• Engage. A Rivvi orchestrator agent learns the organization's programs, policies and systems, composes the right program, and runs it end to end — outreach, barrier discovery, scheduling, consent capture, workflow triggers, and defined human-escalation paths. Every action is governed and auditable.

• Act. Clinicians, navigators, sites and support teams get structured context to complete the next appropriate step, from a prescreening conversation to an appointment or a patient-support action.

Where the boundaries are

Rivvi's AI does not diagnose, prescribe, or override clinical judgment. Each organization configures its own policies, escalation rules, access controls and audit trails. The platform is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type II, business associate agreements are available, and it deploys without requiring a new EMR integration.

Clinical judgment stays with clinicians. Choice stays with patients. What AI adds is the capacity to bring more people into an informed conversation with the right care team while it still matters.
