Medicare assignment
Medicare assignment means a provider agrees to accept the Medicare-approved amount as full payment for a covered service. Participating providers always accept assignment. A nonparticipating provider may accept it on a claim by claim basis. This page does not say whether a given NPI accepts assignment. The lookup is at /npi-lookup.

No. The NPI page shows the public registry record. Assignment is an enrollment fact, not an NPPES name field.
