Skilled nursing facility

A skilled nursing facility benefit under Medicare Part A covers skilled care after a qualifying inpatient hospital stay. Medicare measures the benefit in days of a benefit period, and coinsurance applies after the first 20 days. It is not long-term custodial care. This page does not check whether a stay qualifies.

Skilled nursing facility

An I-SNP is a Medicare Advantage plan for people who need an institutional level of care. It is a different thing from the Part A skilled nursing benefit.

No. The Part A benefit is for skilled care after a qualifying hospital stay. Custodial care alone is not that benefit.
