Founding Software Engineer

Boston, MAFoundingFull-time$120–160K + equityFounding equity

Build across the entire stack — dashboards, APIs, AI agent orchestration, and automated workflows powering healthcare at scale.

What you’ll do

  • Build end-to-end features — from UI to API to deployment, owning problems across the stack
  • Design and ship AI agent workflows — voice agents, post-call analysis pipelines, automated patient outreach
  • Build dashboards and internal tools that give healthcare teams and our own team real-time visibility
  • Collaborate with infrastructure to scale APIs, queues, and data pipelines reliably
  • Automate operational workflows — campaign orchestration, scheduling, notifications, data processing
  • Shape product and architecture decisions directly with founders

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience
  • Comfortable across the stack, from frontend interfaces to backend services and APIs
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB or similar)
  • Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-powered features
  • Good instincts for data flow, how information moves through queues, databases, and event-driven systems
  • Product mindset, you think about the user, not just the code

Nice to have

  • TypeScript and Node.js experience
  • Startup experience and drive, you've built in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
  • Experience scaling systems, you've seen what breaks at growth and know how to prevent it
  • Healthcare, fintech, or compliance-heavy industry background
  • Experience building internal tooling or developer platforms
  • Background in workflow orchestration (Step Functions, temporal, or similar)

Why this role matters

We're a tight-knit team building AI infrastructure that reaches hundreds of thousands of patients. There's no "frontend team" or "backend team" — there's a group of engineers who own problems end-to-end. One week you might ship a client dashboard, the next you're wiring up an AI agent pipeline, the next you're building an internal tool to help the team move faster.

We need someone who can adapt quickly, build across the stack, and bring strong engineering fundamentals to everything they touch.

What you'll work on

AI agent orchestration. We run voice agents that make real calls to real patients. You'll build the systems that configure, dispatch, and analyze these agents — from scheduling workflows to post-call data pipelines.

Client-facing dashboards. Healthcare teams use our product daily to manage campaigns, track patient engagement, and monitor results. You'll build and improve the interfaces they rely on.

APIs and data layer. Type-safe APIs, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, event-driven processing. You'll work with our infrastructure engineer to build services that are reliable and scale.

Internal tools and automation. Campaign orchestration, data processing pipelines, monitoring tools, agent configuration. You'll help us build the systems that make the whole team more effective.

What we're building

Rivvi is conversational AI for healthcare. Our platform handles outbound patient engagement — voice agents that call patients, analyze conversations, schedule follow-ups, and feed insights back to care teams. The engineering challenge is making all of these pieces work together reliably at scale.

What success looks like

  • You ship features end-to-end — UI, API, data layer, tested and deployed
  • AI workflows run reliably and the team trusts the systems you build
  • You move between frontend, backend, and infrastructure work without friction
  • The team ships faster because of tools and patterns you introduce

The team

We're a tight-knit, senior team in Boston. You'll work directly with the founders and have real input on what we build and how. No layers of approval. No months-long planning cycles. Build, ship, learn, iterate.

Apply on the careers page. Include:

  • Examples of products or features you've shipped across the stack
  • Anything you've built involving AI, automation, or internal tooling
  • A note on what draws you to building for healthcare
