Does Twilio sign a BAA?
Yes. Twilio says customers subject to HIPAA who build workflows containing PHI must execute a Business Associate Addendum to Twilio's Terms of Service. Twilio says those customers must have Security Edition or Enterprise Edition.
How do we get a BAA from Twilio?
Twilio says to contact your Twilio account representative or Contact Sales.
Does the BAA cover every Twilio product?
No. Twilio says customers building workflows that may contain PHI should only use its HIPAA Eligible Products and Services. Other products may be used only if there is no potential for PHI to be exchanged in violation of HIPAA.
Are the HIPAA eligible versions of Twilio products different?
Twilio says no. Its HIPAA eligible products have the security controls needed to support HIPAA, and their functionality did not change.
