Redetermination

A redetermination is the first level of appeal for an Original Medicare claim. The Medicare Administrative Contractor that processed the claim reviews it again. A request is generally due within 120 days of receiving the initial determination. Later levels are reconsideration, an administrative law judge, the Medicare Appeals Council, and federal court.

Redetermination

This page does not file an appeal and does not give legal advice. The CMS appeal instructions control the form and the deadline.
