Excludes1

An Excludes1 note in ICD-10-CM is a pure excludes note. CDC says it means the excluded condition is not coded with the code above the note, because the two conditions cannot occur together. This site prints the note from the FY2027 tabular file. It does not tell you which code to submit. The lookup is at /icd-10.

Excludes1

The FY2027 tabular XML is dated June 16, 2026. About 3,414 codes in that file carry an Excludes1 or Excludes2 note on this site. A code page shows the note under the code, not as an instruction.
