Definition
J codes are HCPCS Level II codes in the J section. CMS uses them for many drugs that are not taken by mouth. The October 2026 file is dated September 23, 2026. When the ASP crosswalk lists NDCs, the code page shows those NDCs and the billable units. The hub is at /hcpcs/j-codes.
CPT codes are Level I and are not listed. A J code page never shows a CPT descriptor. The crosswalk effective dates are October 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026.
