Header code

A header code in ICD-10-CM groups more specific codes under a category or subcategory. The order file does not mark it billable, so it is not reported alone on a claim. The more specific child codes are the ones the file marks billable. The lookup is at /icd-10.

Header code

The FY2027 order file has 98,403 codes. Subtracting the 74,879 billable codes leaves the codes that are headers or otherwise not billable.
