Rendering provider

The rendering provider is the individual who performed the service reported on a claim. On a professional claim the rendering provider's NPI is usually a Type 1 NPI. The billing provider can be a different organization with a Type 2 NPI. This site looks up either number. The lookup is at /npi-lookup.

Rendering provider

The public registry shows the name and taxonomy on that NPI. It does not show the claim the NPI was put on.
